Even worse was the 'ole vacuum wipers. Plugging along on a long uphill pull with rain or snow. Well, a choice needs to be made. Does one momentarily let off the accelerator allowing the wipers to work or just keep on going with head out the window?

Yes you are correct, at that point it was back to normal lol, most all of Pops trucks were arm strong anyways. The assist was about wore out on that truck, usually it was better to not even flip the switch lol.

New drivers today probably have no clue what it’s like to make sure your steer tires were positioned for the next move before you stop.....:)

Oooo, oooo, I know this one!!
Drilling for methane, at the dump!!
The drill rig I took the bent kelly's from was at the West Memphis dump. The more I called it a dump, the more offended they got. "It's a LANDFILL son!!" LoL, ok Cheif.

Here a pic I snapped cutting through the Swamp yesterday.
@Hurricane69 bring back any of those memories from the '80's?
Must of been a line of 8-9 drill rigs up on the hill. That's the bank of Lake Okeechobee.. Not sure what they are drilling for.?

I think I mentioned it before but I got to drive an old freight truck from the 30's a few years back in a parade. No power steering, turn signals were manual and the transmission had ZERO forgiveness. Straight cut, sliding gear. If you weren't at least 99% on the money with the shift, it wasn't going in. The guys who drove those trucks 90 years ago were tough SOBs.
