Has anyone tried caffeine withdrawal? Like stop drinking any product, Coca Cola, coffee, 5 hour, Redbull.
Better do it while on vacation. 1st day, major headaches, absolutely no energy, want to sleep 16 hours. 2nd day, headaches continue, still want to sleep, lethargy. This goes on for several more days. Takes about 2 weeks to get it out of your system.
Then stay off of it, use a basic cup of coffee once in a great while. You think you could drive 1000 miles and unload a floor load of kitty litter in a half an hour....
Caffeine: How much is too much? -
@farmerjohn64
It could be a lack of vitamin B12 that's making you sleepy. It was for me. Google it to learn more.
As you get older the body starts to lose the ability of naturally absorbing B12 from the food you eat. This is especially true in men over 50
I didn't start driving until I was 55. I've never had issues of getting tired in the day during all of my years in construction but once I was behind the wheel all day I immediately started to have problems with it and started pounding down energy drinks and the like which I new I shouldn't be doing.
It was a real problem for me so I started researching it and came up with a lack of B12 might be the problem so I started taking it. 500mg once a day from the Walmart suplement isle. Within a few days I noticed a difference and after a couple of weeks I was cured. No more getting tired driving at all.
I still have my one small cup of coffee every morning but that's just because I like it and not because I need it. -

You also don’t want to overdo caffeine whether in coffee or energy drinks. The recommended daily max is 400 mg, and also don’t drink it close to bed time as it can interfere with your sleep quality or make it difficult to fall asleep.Last edited: Jun 26, 2020
