This question goes out to all the current and past TMC drivers. My question is will TMC disqualify you working for them if you are currently taking over the counter anti depressant medication. The reason that I ask this is because I was out there for orentation up until last Friday and had to come home because my doctor needed to see me for a follow up before she would sign the paperwork that TMC had faxed to her. So I went through the physical and all the class room stuff and then they told me that since I was taking anti depressant medication that they need to fax over some paperwork for my doctor to sign and everything would be ok and I would be ready to go. Well now my recurter is telling me that it all depends on if there doctor signs off on it or not and let me continue. What do you guys think has this happened to any of you guys or will I get to go back out there and continue?

Hard to say. Tell your doctor to advice TMC's doctor that it is much safer to treat the depression than to leave it untreated. If your Dr. will sign off saying you can complete your work assignments without damaging yourself, or others on the medication then odd's are you will be ok.

They are just covering themselves... I was on prescription pain meds a few years ago for a kidney stone and TMC had no issue with me working under the circumstances, i was ofcourse not to take them while driving or working. Ofcourse, I was already an employee at the time, so it's hard to say what would happen to you as a new recruit.

even if my doc says that everything is ok and I am fine to drive a CMV? So let me ask you guys this question then. If they DQ me will they in turn burn my DAC with it? And if they do DQ me and burn my DAC what are the chances of getting on with another company?

i dont think that they can burn you on ur DAC if you havent been officially hired and also cant if your not driving yet for them right? I could be wrong.

They're very unlikely to ruin your DAC especially if you haven't been hired yet. Heck, those of us that quit sometimes don't have anything in there at all, others just have employment start/stop dates.

So will I keep having this problem with other companies if I am on these meds? Or is it just TMC and how picky they are when it comes to hiring people? Is it better not to bring it up when you are doing the physical that you are on certian meds that may DQ u from a company or will they pick it up in the drug test? I got all the paper work to them from my dr's and I am now just waiting to hear back from them to see if there dr says I am ok to drive for them. I left there last Friday during the load securement training and they said that I could come back and pick up right where I left off. Hopefully they get back to me b 4 it is 2 late on thursday 2 catch a bus out there other wise I will be driving out there.

I'm still in driver training hired on with USA and take anti depressant medication. I had my doctor's office faxed over the paper work that she is the prescribing doctor and there would be no issue's with these meds and driving and nothing more has been said about it.
