I think it is $1.80 for every loaded mile.
They probably deadhead you for free all over the country.Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
I know I'm land star. But back in January. I moved three empty trailers from fedwx to FedEx. It was a waste of time.literally dropped and hooked three different but same size empty trailers. Just don't get it

I’m doing a power only right now I’m going to a truck show. Figured I’d hook up a trailer lol. it’s a ups load and 2500$ for 535 miles. It’s not easy. But, there is a lot of load our trailers out there. And less than a handful of loaded.
Speed_Drums and feldsforever Thank this. -
A good friend of mine that I talk to every day drives for Missoula Bottling and is in Worland almost every day. Pretty decent for a company driver. They come out if there right at 80 on every load and he’s not sure how they’re still getting away with only running 5 axles. Does Admiral want you to have a 4 axle truck to run for them? He hasn’t said anything about new management in Worland.
Do you have your hazmat? What about leasing to Dixon Brothers or someone like that? Or one of the road oil companies out of Billings? Or CowTran out of Dayton? Or Bertolino out of Billings?
Or are you wanting to do load outs with new trailers?Phantom307 Thanks this. -
Of course Coyote is choking Mercer out. Coyote is owned by UPS.

This kind of thinking, "I don't have any payments so I can haul cheaper", is what depresses the market and will eventually make those with that mindset go out of business. Why? Because at some point you will need to replace or have a major repair to your equipment, and if you don't have the funds set aside you will have a payment on another truck or to pay for the repairs. Then how you going to make those payments hauling at below market rates that you helped drive down? Always factor in those costs when figuring your cost per mile. Also figure in your taxes. This is another cost many don't plan for and it bites them in the hind quarters.
RedBeard, Phantom307, Ellipsoid and 3 others Thank this. -
Youre absolutely right, i dont want to lower the rates any further than they already are. I am just trying to get my foot in the door and underselling myself is the wrong way to do business. i have been trying to find a dispatch/brokerage that can pay me what i am worth, the only problem is there are so many of them that are shady and have given them all a bad reputation.
