At least you didn't take a load from NYC to la only to find out when you got to la that the load you have should have gone to Scranton.

My driver grabbed the wrong shippers in the out slot and the idiot girl on the dock who signed the bol didn't catch the mistake.

The receiver stood stupefied after it was unloaded and tried to figure out why they got a load of electronics when they were waiting for a load of hardware for custom cabinets.

It happens to everyone at all experience levels. This past Thursday myself and another driver from my terminal with decades of experience had a dispatch to pick up a couple of iso tanks from New Orleans and take them to a plant north of Pensacola to get loaded. He ended up hooking up to the wrong container and taking it all the way before it was caught.

Ya you screwed up, but next week your gonna be #####ing. You didnt get paid for all your miles. Back in the 90's when 53 footers and air ride was new. I left the moving business and tried freight. Whet to Dart for a whopping 3 months. Any way one friday I grabbed a shiny brand new trailer. Went and got loaded, pulled that load of tires from texas to Minnesota. On monday dispatch asked me 3 times what trailer number I had. Ooooooog man, that was a 57 footer, wasnt supposed to leave the state of texas!!

I know if that was the Kelly-Springfield plant in Tyler during the late 90’s they didn’t care about anything then. GoodYear finally wholely absorbed them and with new management started laying off manpower at the plant. They were in f-it mode at that point.
Cooper in TexArk has always had their issues here and there as well.

We ALL make mistakes! It could have been worse, you could have had a wreck. It's a learning experience, now you are going to double and triple check yourself

I picked up 3 Ram Promaster vans in Laredo. The first two went to a stop in Kansas city, then the last one was going to Elkhart, Indiana. Got to Indiana with the last van, was about to unload it when the customer told me it should be a cutaway van, not a full van. Realized right then that I forgot to check the VIN on that one when I got loaded. Checked and of course, the VIN didn't match the paperwork. Never found out where that van was actually supposed to go though. My company had me take it over to Gary, Indiana and leave it at our terminal and keep on rolling.

That happened a little over 2 years ago and I've never picked up a vehicle without checking the VIN since. Burn that feeling of shame into your brain and never make that mistake again.
