your health insurance should have been goo through the time period in which it was paid up through example: if u pay for ins. monthly then they can cancel it until the end of the month b/c it was paid for up until then seeing as how they kept ur check then it should have been paid for out of that. then u should also be able to take COBRA which you would pay for but would still cover your ins and hospital visit.

Im pretty sure we paid our insurance weekly. And it wouldn't surprise me if they did something like that. I know a couple drivers that got screwed when I worked there. And I know of at least one person that my current employer did that to.

my experience with this company began when i had 18 years of driving experience. Company policy states out 2 weeks, home for 2 days. I was out for my 2 weeks ( made a whole $250 a week for each of the 2 weeks i was out ) dispatch asked me if i wanted to go home for my time off and i said yeah, I kept him updated sitting from weds untill saturday waiting on the load to be loaded ( with no pay to sit ) and friday I enformed him that I was still taking my home time and was not refusing load since it was my load home. I told him it would have to be relayed or rescheduled at his discretion, he said ok. He went home friday and when i got home late sunday nite I would be leaving to deliver load tues nite for weds morn. He called me early monday morning treating me like a red headed step child and telling me that i am to never go home! then they called a wrecker and towed the equipment out from under me and put abandonment on my dac! This company needs to be forced out of buisness! they are the worst company out there, in the 20 years i have driving, I have never had an abandonment on my dac! be warned about these people!:biggrin_25513:

Worked for them when I just started. Had a bad experience. Especially one very deceitful individual.

sounds familiar!!!i was home on my home time and got sick.they came and picked up my truck and charged me 600 dollars for it..in the meantime i was in the hospital having heart surgery.they insisted i go out the day i told them i didnt feel well.i guess they know medical better than i do..i had a punk dispatcher who had only been there for 2 months.but he knew everything..and i had 3 and a half yrs with them.i was in trucking over 18yrs at the time.but westside knows best!!!!screw that company

They called me tonight and offered me a job. They have a sliding pay scale according to how many miles you run. You would think that if you run hard and where they want and on time that they would feed you more miles though...right?
Good equipment, and good dispatchers has been my biggest complaint, and everyone says they have both of those settled.

That sliding pay scale deal sucks rocks....they started that about my 3rd or 4th year with them and then they got away from it. Too bad they brought it back
