A/C Compressor not engaging, any ideas?

    You'd need an A/C gauge manifold. Typically speaking, a properly charged R134a system should have about 70 PSI on both sides of the system at around 70°F. If the refrigerant leaks out, the static pressure drops. There are pressure switches in the system. If static pressure is too low, the switches stay open and prevent the A/C clutch from getting power.

    I think I’ll go get that checked out tomorrow. I don’t know why I forgot that part! I just figured if power wasn’t getting to the compressor that it might have been switch related in the cab. Thanks

    Update: well, I went to one of my local shops that have an evac machine. Almost 0 Freon. While doing the evacuation, I heard and found the leak. A $300 hose goes on tomorrow lol. It’s a S piece metal with a flange that hooks directly to the compressor, has a low pressure port on it, then about 3 or so foot of line with a spinning nut built into it. So I was thinking $150 or so but... It’s kind of nice though when you find the leak so fast.
