Some companies want 3 years distance on that type ticket.

I can't imagine any big company is going to turn you down, insurance will probably be a real pain if you're trying to go to a smaller company

 

I can confirm that! I found a tiny company that just loved me (for some odd reason), but they couldn't hire me due to MY last ticket. They had $100K/year insurance, but hiring me would have jacked that up to $160K/year. An extra $5K/month.

Insurance companies are getting away from just insuring the equipment thus allowing drivers with sketchy DMV records to slip in under the radar. Now, they CAN decide to NOT jack the rate that high if that's the only major offense on the DMV record. For me, I have a second ticket a year prior. Minor as it was, they really couldn't chance that I have bad habits that they'll end up paying for.

As for the OP, if that is the only offense, you'll probably be fine right now. Or, if you can wait another 6 months for it to drop off, you will have a clear record and all doors will be open. Even now, I think you'll be okay. They are harder on me because I know better. You are a rookie, so it'll be easier to overlook.
