    i tried applying to pyle...ONCE

    i had all the qualifications.

but i turned down the linehaul runs, as i did not like switching out trucks when i got to my destination. i was told you always have to clean out your truck on your 10 cuz you "might not" get it back

i do not like switching out.

but they do have very good benefits, one of which is they own a car dealership or 2, and you get a nice discount buying there.

you do get paid very well, but you WILL WORK for it.

i just do not like switching out.

Pyle is an LTL carrier, linehaul means driving at nite, ALL NITE, no naps, no sleeper. Start time usually 8-10pm, get back to yard 5-7am. 5 nites a week.
Did this for nearly 14 years, not a Pyle but at Dayton Freight.
Giving the times we are in, that not a horrible job offer, depends where you live and the cost of living your area.

yeah, i like my stuff, in my truck. removing things like the cb radio, and briefcase, and over-night bag, things can get broken, or lost, as you always forget something.

i never had one of those portable cb/am/fm radio-boxes either. actually, never wanted one.

I can’t tell you how thankful I am to not have to deal with those headaches.

one of the reasons why i had stayed at NEMF.

the only time i had to switch out was when the truck was in the shop.

once i got "assigned" a truck, it was mine.

this one time however, a dispatcher at a different company said to me, "if your name is not on the truck, it is not your truck".

"ok," i said...."when you need me to pick up an extra load, don;t call me, call the lower guy on the seniority list."

never had MY assigned truck" taken away

at that time, i was the top driver and ran like no tomorrow, all on ONE log book, but somehow, some way....got those other loads picked up and delivered for him.

They pay linehaul drivers by the hour? Most LTL carriers pay by the mile for that type of work. Still, that hourly pay is decent and close to being on par with FedEx.

Awesome, congratulations! I used to enjoy sharing the interstate with Pyle drivers when I ran linehaul. Overall a pretty courteous group of drivers. On the P&D side, never ran into one that was an unbearable grumpy ####er.
