I am a rideshare(Uber/Lyft) driver who is fed up with these companies. I am in the processing of obtaining my CDL. Two quick questions

    1) How much a week could I make in the next two years(after companies grill me in the first two years of course)? On Uber and Lyft, fulltime drivers make $1,500-$2000 gross per week.
    2) What deductibles do truckers get for tax purposes? I run an LLC registered as a S Corporation. Will that help me in trucking?

    Thanks a ton!

If you can really gross $1500-2000 a week on lyft and Uber. I think you will be surprised how trucking pays. You asking about a company driver. You can drive about 120,000 miles a year at 32 cents per miles you will make $38,000.

Their is lot of regulations in trucking. You can work 70 hours a week and that's it. They track everything you do with today's modern GPS log books. You can't move truck more then 5MPH without logging it.

No tax write-off for company drivers. If you have your own truck then you can write off any business expenses

Nobody is paying .32 cent a mile. Swift starts rookies out of school off at .42 ... op 40 to 45k ur first year is reasonable and can go up from there depending what trailer u wanna pull.

Truckers are the biggest bs'ers on the planet. But 6k a month there is alot of guys doing that. But u have to be specialized with a couple years of experienced. Not gonna make that at a mega

I like the idea of working 70 hours only. I love that. I will work out in my spare time. I love this regulation. If I can bring home $4000-$5000 a month by staying healthy, then I so love that.

I drove Lyft while in truck driving school! I made more doing lyft than I make driving a truck, but no miles on my car, no passengers to deal with and get to see part of the country I wouldn't otherwise see!

You can make the same as an experienced driver if you get all the endorsements and carefully choose your first company.
Don't believe all the hype about drivers starving to death or trying to talk you out of changing careers. It's usually experienced drivers that try to talk new drivers out of becoming truckers. Keep in mind, if trucking is so bad, why are they still driving.

Lol no u just cant drive after 70hr clock is expired. Ask any trucker. Lots of our work is done off the clock to manage logbook effectively
