K & B transportation

I applied with K&B a couple times. The last time was about 5 years ago. Didn't even take me getting the plane ticket confirmation before I changed my mind. Recruiter then resorted to threatening me. Like that was really going to compel me to fly on up.

 

I remember seeing that video from that KB driver on his YouTube channel. Glad to see he is or still was at the time of that 20/20 video driving.

 

Are you at prime now?

 

Prime? Is that a joke, or are you seriously asking? Nah, Prime won't hire me. Back when I first got into trucking and was going to go through their school to obtain my class a, there was an incident with their shuttle driver getting me to the terminal late. That showed me what that program was about, and I left. They wouldn't hire me I don't believe. But I wouldn't want to work there anyway. That was a good 14 years ago, I think.

 

Where do you work now?

 

Right now I drive for a smaller company in Texas. I do local, but they also have regional.

Well thank you, but I am on the fence about making a change. Due to all this COVID junk, if the customer we do the local for shuts down again we either get paid for sitting at home by the company (not likely that will happen again) or run regional and whatever they can find for 38cpm.

 

$0.38/mile is very low

 

I agree. I found another company, that pays .50cpm, claimed to be 3500mpw. New Volvo 860 and newer trailers. The trucks where I currently work aren't the greatest, but I drive a day cab right now. The road trucks current job has aren't much better, though. I make $850 a week on 40 hours with current company. If I had to do the mileage thing here I definitely wouldn't want to stick around. COVID really threw a monkey wrench in the groove we had here, though.
