If I ever get Buck back from Detroit of Tampa (been there since Wed for an overhead ) I am going too see if I can find some freight going out that way. My kinda luck it's about as far across the US as one can get. I too am skeptical about all that fresh frame paint. Also worried I'd have no leg room with that style bunk, not being able to move the seat back. RTO 15, do you happen to know the OD ratio on that? Seen some 15's are .79. Actually looks ok, tall 24.5, 3.70, should be ~1600 @70mph..

Yeah, I'm wondering what could have caused that turbo inlet pipe to get dented in like that..? Sasquatch up there in PNW must be turning wrenches.. LoL
Thinking the quarter fenders are mounted a little low. Maybe slinging rocks at the bunk denting it in many places. Even with the little 6" flaps on the quarters, I hear rocks pinging off my bunk too.. The rust around the bunk mounts does concern me. That area needs to be strong IMO..

I can't tell for certain, but it kinda looks like the bunk is solid mount.? I'm assuming that would mean the cab is solid mount as well? Sure that will do wonders for the ride quality..
Bubbled paint makes me curious what is hiding under that fresh paint..

I know, stinking twin screws everywhere!!:D My real issue is not that I have trouble keeping moving while things are good. But I did finally see how screwed I can be when open deck dries up. Had I the ability to go to 80k lb gross, I believe I could have changed up wagons to a hopper, or even a box , & kept a good income. The rates for what I normally do were bad, so parking it was the right move..

I am fortunate I put up enough for the famine, but it was a sickening feeling watching it dwindle away.

I'd be happy with a pusher axle. Honestly I'd probably leave it in the air, but just happy to have it incase I need it in the future. But everyone keeps saying, in so many words, "good luck with that 11.1, & 9speed at 80k.!" And I know in the back of my mind, yep, that will suck..

So pulled all 8 ignition coils. All were reading in about the same range (0.7 - 1.1 ohms). Tested all the injector resistances on the right bank. All dang near 12 ohms on the nose. The guy who diagnosed the misses last summer and last winter were hard on equipment:

Didn't see any evidence of carbon tracking although the epoxy on top of my "suspected" #6 coil had a little line etched in it and I couldn't get it to clean off (I suspected it was hard water stains at first from washing or road water spray):

You can see it along the top right corner. Not sure if its worth worrying about.

Going to test the 4 injectors on the left bank now. Feel stupid that I paid $1800 for two, $100 injectors to be replaced when I can clearly see I could have easily done it myself in under an hour in the driveway :(

All left bank injectors ohm out at 12 just like the right side. Pulled the suspected #6 plug. Don't have my feeler gauges but can just about slip a 1.5 mm allen key thru the gap so that'd put it at about 0.050" gap. Doesn't look fouled or anything. Gap does seem a bit on the excessive side though. Not sure what the factory specs are on these plugs. Seeing 0.035" on early 5.0L and after 2012 they seem to spec them at 0.045". This is according to Google search so I hesitate to take that as Gospel.

    #6 plug:

LoL 60" bunk my rump!! That's the exact same 42" I got now.! :D

I've seen that truck. I tend to glaze over once I see those stinking rockwell transmissions in there. I hear they are a pile. Can anyone say otherwise.?

I love the price though. :D That truck could look decent with a few grand if the bones are good..

I had one in a fld it went 1.8mil before it gave out. They’re tight shifting so most just jam them in gear.

All 4 plugs on the left side look the same. Gaps seem relatively close. No evidence of carbon tracking on the plugs either. Crawled under and checked the manifold studs, manifold and collector joint. I can see about 6 out of 8 studs and they look good. They look to be 10 mm studs too so maybe Ford updated their manifolds? The noise definitely seems to come from the front left corner, valve cover area. Don't wanna say it but this might mean exactly what I don't want it to mean - cam phaser #### the bed :(

Probably not bad just getting noisy, its keeping it in time like the computer wants so its not gone yet.
