Hey guys,
I am a wanna be trucker here and will be starting my CDL classes next Monday at America's Driving Force. I am wanting to do OTR driving. I have an 18 month old daughter and have been wanting to drive semis since I was about 8. I went to New Jersey with my grandfather and have dreamed of doing this since. My only problem is that I have a felony offense, but the good news to that is that coming February of 2010 it will be completely erased off my record.
I am located in Rome, Ga and have a long history of truckers in my family. I guess you can say my career has been pre determined. I am excited to start my training and am ready to get on the road. If anyone has any comments about my future please do so.

Well tomorrow I will be off to pay for my classes. I am getting really excited about this. I have dreamed about this day since I was a young kid riding with my grandfather. My whole family is being supportive of my career choice.

Welcome aboard. How about some updates as you progress through school. Just seems like yesterday when I was 21 and wanting to get into trucking.

I will keep everyone updated. Thanks for the welcome

It's hard to be out on the road when you have a little one at home. Kids grow up so quickly and you'll miss so much of it. If you're going to be doing OTR, you'll only be home 4 days a month. Good luck to you.

I know it, I am definitely going to miss her. But I have to support my family, and I have always wanted to do OTR.

OTR is lots of fun. I just circled the country and took tons of pictures with my digital camera. I started in Dallas and headed west to Southern California, then went north to Seattle, then east to PA, then headed south to Miami. Tomorrow I'm going to New Joysie, then probably back to Texas. I love OTR! I'm a Trucker Buddy to a 3rd grade class in Massachusetts and I have tons of pictures to send to them. I hope you enjoy it too. It seems like just yesterday that I was in truck driving school. I went to school in Northern California and got to drive through the redwood forests and up and down the coast. It was a lot of fun and I still love my job and often feel like a paid tourist. I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing.
