Tcalled the load here I got in beaver ut.
did my 10 in misquote nv and left around 4am this morning so I could miss most of the holiday traffic.
day off tomorrow and have nothing planned except laundry.

 

I'm taking a couple days off.
I got between Madison and Janesville, WI and stopped at the Road Ranger to repower my load.
That was yesterday.

Today I am still in too much pain to deal with landing gear and bouncy roads.
Most of the trailers I pick up are way too high, and I have to crank them down to hook. I can't do that right now, especially with a heavy load.
Tomorrow I'll need to get into Janesville to the Walmart for supplies, but I'm not planning for a load tomorrow.

I have never used any of those sick time hours I have been building up over the years. This is a good time to do so.
At last count I had 92 sick hours available.

First week of training went well.

Got stuck in Paso Robles over the weekend. Went down to South gate picked up some shingles discovered that I was 2560 lb over gross. So I will have to rework it in the morning. Since the customer already closed.

Sitting back in the back row with the easy pull out. There is a reason that this used to be the flatbed row. Right now my entire Hood sticking out past these guys. And my rear tire is to the curb.

Ran back to customer, they yanked off a pallet, and we ran good. Student already got his 45s down. Ill continue to observe and fine tune. Actually had to have him blindside at customer. Pretty good.

 

blindsides are my nemesis.
don't due them unless I absolutely have to.

 

I go out of my way to avoid them. But when the shoe fits........ I grumble and grab the mirror switch.

 

Got back to work today, I was going stir crazy.
The only load offered was a Post load out of Wilmington, IL going to Kroger in Louisville, KY - delivering at 2230 for a live lumper special.
Finally got shut down at a Walmart not too far away at about 0215, using line 5.

I took a few days of sick pay this past week for the days I missed from hurting myself.
Always wondered how much sick pay is, and now I know.
$26.64 per hour.

 

Had no idea theres a shingle place in scipio. Seemed like a ghost town everytime i go thru there lol I pulled a couple gravel loads out of aurora, out of a gravel pit down there, next city over from scipio iirc...
