I am not ready to have them drop the transmission to fix a leaking back box . Can anyone recommend an additive to slow this leaking transmission? . Meritor 10 speed in a 60 series detroit

No additive will fix the leak. Snake oils that claim to do so will be temporary.

Keep it full with the correct lube and fix the leak as time allows.

What about the engine that was leaking? Lucas stop leak fixed it ......rear main seal , rear and front cover seal , it fixed all on both trucks . Sit back and watch , I will find one for a transmission leak .chasing leaks on a detroit 60 series will put an owner operator out of business

Why are you asking for recommendations if you already have a magic potion in your pocket that fixes trucks? Theres a ton on this in the archives and everyone here knows my stance as stated above. Happy pouring.......

You need to Check that Gearbox Breather is not Blocked, as this can cause It to Leak..

Ok , I looked online and found the breather location . It's on the top cover . The leak is by the drain plug and how and why would a breather cause a leak ?

If vent isn't relieving case pressure, internal pressure will increase and cause oil to be forced out of the weakest link.
