Truck are fine. Most have been replaced with new Volvos automatics.

 

I don't have an issue going to the garage no matter where I'm at in the YRC network. If they dont like it, I don't really give a flying you know what. It's my CDL on the line, not theirs.

Never once have I been asked to buy anyone anything, except from my fellow drivers and I'm all for attaching each others back.

The equipment is mostly new,at least the trucks are. Much better than they used to be five years ago.

I would NEVER entertain the idea of buying anything for anyone in management. I was told by my trainer years ago, the people behind the desk are NOT your friend, never trust them...and I don't!

Any job is what you make it. It's trucking, better than many, worse than some. Could be better, could be a lot worse.

 

I hear all the time how people are sitting on the side of the road not getting paid for broken down with some of these companies out there. Why shouldn't I get paid? I'm sitting in your equipment on the side of the road in your truck and I'm not sitting on my couch. Why shouldn't you pay me? YRC pays you the moment you call dispatch and tell them you're broke down...and they keep paying you until you're moving again.

 

Are u sure they actually pay for breakdowns?

 

Absolutely!! Been payed many, many times.

 

Reason i asked is i know an ltl company i wont say names that initially said they pay for that per haps to get people in the door not sure. Then later on companies changes that rule or drivers have hard time actually getting paid. Etc.
