I’ve only been here 3 months. However I can speak on my experience so far.
So far I’m happy. They keep me moving , pay is good ( by good I mean .49cpm with 3cpm monthly bonus) , they actually get me home on time or early. ( I’m out 3 too 4 weeks). Communication is good. They run automatic Volvo’s which I’m no fan of. I do see they have a few o/op running long nose Petes and Kw’s. I met a few other drivers who all been here a few years or more. I believe one guy been here 20 years. Too me that says a lot. Their driver retention is solid. I’m not at all micromanaged. Only other thing I don’t like aside from the Volvo’s is the health insurance is high. It’s blue cross but at almost 100.00 a week I’d rather pass. I’ve been averaging between 2400 and 3200 miles. That’s a rough average, math ain’t my strong suite. I don’t care for office folks much. I finished orientation not being all that sure about them but obviously I like them a lot or I would not be posting. I don’t give a #### about referrals. I do fine without them. I got laid over due to a customer mechanical breakdown and H&M called the next day offering me 200.00. Blew my #### mind I didn’t have to fight or ask for detention. All I had to do was be on time and communicate. As far as being on time if your running late , call and let them know and they’ll rework it so you’ll still be technically on time. Any questions just holler. I can go a couple months without checking this site but I’ll make it a point to check back a few times each week for the near future at least. In short if your looking for a good company I’d give H&M a call. If you go dryvan you’ll have to get hazmat. I’m no door swinger. Hoppers and tankers are my thing so not knocking anyone it’s just my preference. Be safe and God bless.

Volvo automatics are as good as it gets as far as autos are concerned.
Also they have fuel solutions which means you have to take their route, don’t you?
Where do you run with the hopper? All 48 or more of a regional thing?

    ghostcookie Thanks this.

Correct fuel solution Route solution. I just put each stop in my rand McNally and it always lines up so it hasn’t bothered me like I thought it may. They fuel at loves , pilot , J , petro , ta , sapp , mapco and a couple other places. They keep me moving I usually already have a load before I deliver. It’s not regional. Farthest north east I’ve been is Pennsylvania furthest west was Utah. Texas to Michigan and they run the south. May depend on where someone lives idk. I run a lot of I-80 I-70 i10 ,i57 , i65.

Honestly I love Hopper. I see at H&M its several o/ops with manual transmission Petes and Kennworths. 5 I know of. I may go that rout. I would never do a lease purchase, especially for an automatic Volvo when every load I haul is around 50k lb. If I left here it would be to go dive for like a 5 truck hopper outfit. I couldn’t see myself going back too dryvan or reefer. I actually like the customers I deal with. Mostly all really good home grown folks.

Hopper or Dryvan? Best of luck. I’m still here and doing well. I do love most of the customer base with Hoppers. Good people. I’ve met several drivers who been here 5 and 10+ years. I doubt I’ll be here that long but as of now I’m still quite happy. They keep me rolling and get me home. Runs could be a bit longer but overall I’m happy.
