I'm not sure were you get you look ads from. You could get Apple laptop. They are all metal a build really good. Unless you need something specific like windows programs. You could get Chromebook those are generally very cheap built and always need internet access to work. Those just run Google chrome web browser and Google app. So every is done on internet. If you get full laptop definitely get SSD Sold State hard Drive. They are very fast and no moving parts. Older or cheap laptops could still have the old and slow spinning hard drive to save money.
You can do lots of stuff on cell phones today you might not need laptop. I used work for Landstar. Back then that had little trouble working with apple or Google web browser. Because they were all Microsoft back then. That's why I might make difference were you get loads. I believe all modern load board today have cellphone apps -
If you get laptop you still have to get it online. You need your cell phone and internet date from cell phone company. You need a cell phone and cell phone plan that has HOTSPOT service. That were you turn you phone into Wi-Fi. Your sharing you phone inter with the laptop. You can also get laptop with built in cell phone service then you have pay extra for that every month and you need someone like Verizon or AT&T. Because without cell phone signal you can't get online. I had Verizon and they had really good coverage all over. Even in Wyoming and Montana. You want fast internet because you can have a fast laptop but if the cell phone tower internet is slow so will you laptop. Remember all you internet is now coming from a cell phone tower.

I have been VERY happy with my Apple laptops... but opinions vary... I have two MacBook Pro laptops that I purchased 10 years ago for my girls as they went off to college... I have upgraded them to new MacBook Air laptops and while the OS can no longer be upgraded as of just a year ago or so, they still do what they were purchased to do.
As mentioned above, a lot can be done on Smart Phones and Apps... but if you are “working” on them a lot, I’d suggest an iPad or iPad mini for the additional screen real estate.
I can’t really suggest Chrome Books due to, again mentioned above, they need to be connected to the internet most of the time and when OTR, thats not always possible. -
But I would pick something like this
HP Envy x2 12-inch Detachable Laptop with Stylus Pen and 4G LTE, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor, 4 GB RAM, 128 GB Flash Storage, Windows 10 (12-e091ms, Silver/Blue) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C7XY7GS/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_gx2dFb5CWDJMV
Or more expensive but faster and better
Surface pro from Microsoft itself
Work collaboratively and efficiently from anywhere with Surface Pro (5th Gen) with LTE Advanced.
Both have its own simcard, so you see data on the go without relaying on your phone.
Also it small enough for you to mount it somewhere on a dash and use it as tablet with touchscreen.
And for other paperwork you can attach keyboard and use it as usual laptop.
And its not as expensive as MacbooksLast edited: Jul 15, 2020
