My old boss ran them on his Conestogas because of the way the track was set up. I don’t think he ever had any issues with them.

I have not tried them, but I can see how they will come in handy, especially on a lo-pro step, which I believe both you & I run..
If you experience the same issue as I, with the winch bar hitting the ground before the dog catches the next tooth, but can't get the bar in the next winch hole.
Just keep them lubed up..

Thats exactly what i have .
I use car hauling tightening bar that is 3/4 thick all the way and comes in different lengths , i still have longer than i should be using but it helps a lot .
Will make pic for you laterTug Toy, 650cat425 and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -

LoL, man I'm thick headed! I should get one of those too.
My solution thus far has been over inflating the trailer air bags to get the extra clearance needed between the bar & the ground..
Thanks man!
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
I just used a shorter bar.
singlescrewshaker and TripleSix Thank this. -
I use a steel punch that's about a foot and a half long. Some rgns will have strap ratchets on the side, and if you're trying to secure a wide crate with straps on an rgn, you will find yourself lying on the ground, underneath the load, and that solid short bar is the only way to tighten the straps.Tug Toy, singlescrewshaker and not4hire Thank this.

Mine was similar; a solid hexagon bar about an inch and-a-half across and about the same length.
Doubled for freeing frozen brake drums without having to get under the trailer by putting it through a wheel hole and tapping with a hammer.

I run regular flatbed. When I'm hauling steel, and go really tight, I love that full length bar. A shorty, I know I would lose a tooth or 2.
singlescrewshaker and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
