Just keep it on your lane.

What do you do when a 4-wheeler slows down to hang out right next to your trailer tires. You slow down, they slow down. You speed up, they speed up.

A lil whip will wake them up.

A trailer hits me as I pass in my lane and you ask what for?
Depends on severity of damage or injury..
willful and wanton conduct as action intentionally but with disregard for others' safety, or acting with a reckless indifference of the repercussions.

    Attempted murder.

Whipping it outside a lane is a different story for sure.

I assumed the op meant wagging a trailer to hit someone because they were angry.
You have the entire width of the travel lane to use as you please.

I'll put on the blinker and bluff a lane move, but I won't crack the whip. You crack the whip and there's a road surface change you don't see and now you hit another vehicle. Hell with some of the roads out there like in NM, or LA it's enough work to keep it in the lane without stupid stunts.

Even with video footage, you will have a huge problem getting a conviction of a criminal act. The primary problem is proving intent. That driver could say I was avoiding a dog or anything. Yes, you can get a judgment for any damage done to your vehicle. However, getting a conviction for a "crime" in this situation is going to be almost impossible to get. About 3 years ago I saw something like this happen in a court right here in Virginia. The judge tossed the case because the Commonwealth's Attorney could not establish intent. Just about every criminal act on the books today have intent as one of the elements that MUST be satisfied for the case to proceed. I admit I am not an attorney, but I did see this in action.
