So if the wheel was straight before the failure and the alignment an educated guess would be something is not quite right with the alignment.
Park the truck and position the steering wheel straight ahead and look at your drivers side wheel it should be straight ahead and is not adjustable ( because of non adjustable drag link).
Now take a look at the other side is the wheel ####ed in one direction or the other?
If the steering wheel is not 100% straight ahead when you set the toe the toe setting will be correct but the steering wheel won’t be straight.
Also the toe opens up when you drive the truck.
With that being said sometimes (according to how much front end wear you have) you have to over compensate the steering wheel slightly when setting the toe so when you start to drive and the toe opens up the wheel comes to straight ahead in the cab.
Hope this makes sense.TheBaron97 Thanks this. -
Good information, yes something definitely must have happened because it was perfectly fine before the tire rod fell off.and then once I change the tire rod ends and put it back on there and took it in for an alignment it was never the same. I almost wonder if something got bent when the tire rod fell off, the driver driving it was backing up a trailer and the tires obviously went to different directions because there was no longer a tire steering them together. I took the truck into the dealership to fix a different issue but asked them to fix the steering as well, so I should probably call them and let them know what happened to see if they can figure out what's going on.

Pretty sure on that steering wheel the whole front cover will pop off, not just the horn button like older trucks. Should be a nut there. Some didn’t have puller bolt holes, should be able to pull up on one side of the steering wheel and smack the back side of the other, usually pops off.

You are quite heavy on your toe in spec , Get it closer to 1/16" in.
I have always straightened steering wheels at the wheel. Truly amazes me that alignment shops never do this. Part of the job if you ask me.TheBaron97 Thanks this.
