Have all of you been able to find work since they went out?

 

I am now offically on disability. I worked suffering being played a long by the insurance scam. There are truck jobs out there, at least in my area. Seldom do I think of Mid-States which is a blessing. They will reap what they have sewed no doubt.

 

I saw one a long side of the road out of fuel with 10 flat tires and a driver from Mexico on a cell phone....haaaaaaaaaaaa With a DOT truck behind it...and a whole bunch of creditors with guns...lol just kidding.

 

no new job yet for the hubby...Michigan is not doing well when it comes to driving jobs..unless you want to be gone for days at a time....

 

I use to work at Mid states in indy. I recieved a phone call from the department of labor about the investigation on the employees insurances and 401 k

 

Hi everyone, well I do not know if what I am about to report is all that important or not, but today I recieved a phone call from some investigator wanting to know information regarding the self funded insurance plan, such as when did I come to know it was self funded, and did I ever recieve a copy of the plan (of which I replied that as far as the Milwaukee terminal is concerned, when I began employment in October of 2000, they offered a booklet outlining the plan, til they changed it which if memory serves me correct, was I think two-three years later? In anycase after that happened, there were numerous times when I asked my terminal manager about getting another booklet as I had somehow misplaced mine somewheres, and the answer was always the same.. No Got.. None available.. this even after calling corporate and asking Gina for one. So that is what I told the investigator who called me today. We spoke for about 15-20 minutes on the phone while I was driving. He asked quite a few questions and said that there were something like 4 or 5 different investigations going on with Mid States right now. So based upon what he said or did not say, I fully believe that someone or someones are working very dilligently to make a strong case against those who were in charge of the operations in Mid States. He sounded like he just might call me back again real soon, so if he does, I will let you know what transpires. I was kinda pre-occupied with getting my grandson ready for his martial arts class today when the investigator phoned me, so I appologise for not having a name for you, of the guy who called me today. I had three or four things going on at the same time, hence my failure to report this in a more accurate manner. I will endeavor to try and be more attentive to detail should he happen to call me again, as I know just how important every little detail may be to those of you who are hanging by a thread or trying to find out what is going on. So that is all I have for now, but do stay tuned in just in case I should have more later... G

 

We received a phone call from the Department of Labor also. It was quite a lengthy call. We DO have the book that was given out when we got the insurance and the papers from the second insurance also. We found out Mid-States was self-insured when we complained to the Insurance Board and they told us that they couldn't handle the complaint because Mid-States was self-insured and that's not handled by the Insurance Board, but by the Department of Labor. So we complained to the Department of Labor way back in 2006. The man we talked did say there were several investigations going on - including criminal. He said this case was "big," so they are pursuing every avenue possible. He also said that when they closed the doors, all of the Hartmann's "fled" and Steve was the only one left but he is out of the picture right now also and everything is being handled by the trustee.

Our money for 401Ks and Insurance WAS being used for daily operations.

Of course, the investigation will take some time, but I was very glad to hear about the criminal investigation. That means the Hartmann's personal wealth can be brought into the picture. They can't hide behind the corporation any more.

 

Got the same call and nothing more to ad here...You know what this reminds me of?

Ever watch the documentaries on farm workers or miners in the old days? How the company owned the stores where the worker's shopped, even the shack's where they lived...issued their own money and charged outrageous prices to the point the employees was in debt to the company? That is what this reminds me of...I pay you $1.00 day and you pay me back half of that and I will provide you with healthcare and a shack to live in, even a store to buy your supplies....what a deal!!

Anybody want a lick...ha!! I feel like an all day sucker for some reason..haaaaaaaaaa

 

One more thought..if we know they can not hide behind the corporate statis you can bet they do...want to bet there is right now a big game of hide the wealth going on right now? This is one topic I wish we would be quiet on until it is time....Christmas girl.
