After learning more specifically about this SUPER 10 model transmission, I'm going to have to guess that what is wrong has to do with the air actuated system in the transmission.

From what has been described, the transmission is stuck in high range and won't split the gears on the 3rd shift rail. It is locked out from going into the low range side which are the 1st and 2nd shift rails.

I think it is the automatic "Top 2 valve assembly" that is malfunctioning along with the air module.

    I gree with jim bob.

I believe the super ten supplies air to put the trans in low rang. Exhausts it to go into high.

If he has a pressure regulator problem or a problem in the air actuated system t can cause it to not shift or not fully shift.

And 7th and 9th are the gears you would have with no air shifting

I'm one of the #### Yankees, or a transplant if you prefer. I am originally from Indiana and came to Alabama by way of a stop in west TN. So no, the Alabama public school system cannot be blamed for my level of education. That blame shall fall upon the Indiana public school system and a certain state University also located in Indiana.

Been out in No-mans land for a while so I've missed out on all the bashing and such with Rob... SO I'm gonna post my advise now...Rob what few parts left on the truck that aren't busted, broke, split, cracked, warped or otherwise ROb-ified put them on ebay.... Sell the rest to a recycle yard. Take what you get and set up a snow-cone and hot dog stand across the road at the Mall....:biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551: :biggrin_25522:

PS why haven't you contacted me about the trailer.... I'm in RT to VA......:biggrin_2552::biggrin_2552::biggrin_25513:

I would sit there and work the phones until I found someone to come take it to atleast a safe harbor before I would have headed south. I would have tried like hell to make sure it got to where it had to be though...even if it cost me. If it was within 500 miles of where I live I could have gotten a friend to come take it.. especially where it was on the weekend...the contruction folks usually only work mon-fri...therefore there are tractors sitting around all over the place on the weekend doing nothing. In my case...I would have only had to make one call as I know who would have come and gotten it for me if I was in the same situation. I know 3 different people I could have called who would have come and I'm not even a trucker. If for some reason that didn't work out (the bad luck of everyone being on vacation at once or something)...I would have called Ryder truck rental....drove to their nearest depot and picked up a rental tractor... completeted the job myself...come back...left the trailer in their yard with a newly purchase lock on it and then taken my truck for repairs. That is exactly what I would have done.

When I was hauling tankers in AL, my dispatcher's wife would 'help' out by setting up the sign out in front of the terminal. She'd pride herself on her position as a public school teacher, and tended to look down her nose at us lowly truck drivers.

Nearly every time she posted a sign (like "Driver's Wanted" hint: no apostrophe needed...) I had to go out and correct it... just to keep us from looking like a bunch of idiots.

didn't know the process to rent a commercial truck was the same as gettin a uhaul.. i would assume they'd run a credit check or atleast put a hold on a credit card.. and i dont think (correct me if i'm wrong Rob) Rob has the means for that.. he's stretched pretty thin as is.. and you know it cause ya beat his peter into the ground in an earlier post of yours about how he fouled his money.

    p.s.
i'm from florida and carless bout my grammer or punctuation.
