Sometimes it seems that no matter how hard you plan something, circumstances change and throw a wrench in the gears...

They're back.....about the size of a quarter....vicious little things, but friendly to us two legged folk. Watched one catch a mud wasp, first the wings, then the head and on down everything except legs....

Run whichever transmission makes you happy. That being said, the situation you are describing, a 18 will offer a benefit over the 13.

These would be for rtlo 16913a & rtlo 16918b
The 13 you shift 4th low range 3.23 to 5 low, high range 2.29.
The 18 you shift 4hi low range 2.73 to 5 low, high range 2.29.

I see it as smaller gap, 2.73-2.29 will provide less rpm drop. What exactly are we arguing about here..?

I swear people don't realuze how much our concrete jungles impact how hot it gets. Left the camp this morning and car registered 80. Drove 15-20 min into town and it jumped to 89. The radiant heat from asphault/concrete accts for an almost 10 degree difference.

I ran a 13spd with 2.70 rears, iirc. That made for some long gears, lol. Of course it had a 550hp (dyno verified, not made #) that moved it along. But I was able to run a whole trans gear lower. So 8th direct was like 1400rpm at 64mph.

A guy I know who has a little used car lot just picked up a '99 9200 with a flat top and N14. It looked like he pulled it out of a field before it was washed up and he stuck a $13,500 price on it, lol.

Why did we drive in a parkway, and park in a driveway?
