How you know is the compressor?
maybe the evaporator freezes up , moisture from air condensates turns into water and ice, blocks air flow, happens during hot humid weather this time of the year. Did you notice water dripping on from AC evsporator drain in front and under bunk after you stop the truck? If you get cold air after shutting it off few min, the ice melts down. Could be low freon, or try higher blower speed , posdition 3 or 4 to prevent freezing, filfy clogged evaporator accelerates freezing, wash the bugs and debries from AC condenser, this time of the year gets plugged bad reduces airflow and heat exchange efficuency.

Yeah, could be anything, but might be the expansion valve sticking, or freezing up, and raising pressure high enough to shut compressor off. If it’s icing up, from moisture in the system, a quick way to find out, is to keep Truck running, and turn off a/c, for a few minutes, so it thaws out. Turn it on, and if it’s working, might just be moisture in the system.

The ac actually worked completely fine the last couple days with outside temp over 90 for some unknown reasons. The moisture indicator on the dryer showing showing bluish green so I just assumed the dryer was fine. I haven’t changed it out before. But I probably will replace it if I have to open he system to change some other components.

I don’t believe the evaporator coil is iced up because I actually took the plastic enclosure apart under passenger side dash to confirm not too long ago while it occurred.

It was as if someone just press the “ac off” button when it happened. The ac compressor would just free wheeling and the clutch disengaged as observed under he hood. But as soon as I restarted the engine it would work right the way.

It also has whole bunch of the same climate unit error mid146 Sid 250 fmi9. It read as sae j1708 j1587 communication error of the climate control unit. The climate control knobs unit has been changed once trying to fix the error but didn’t resolve. The error would just pop up once in a while for a few seconds. I consider this to be unfixable and it doesn’t seem to have any effect on climate unit performance.
