Try intermittent fasting. Make it a point to eat at the end of the day and fast until meal time. After a week, your body will get used to it and it will be second nature.

I do the best with intermittent fasting. I usually eat once or twice a day then don't eat again for 16 to 18 hours.

Crappy food makes me feel crappy. I eat junk on occasion. I won't touch McDonald's. I don't consider it to be food. If I get a burger or two I never get fries and a drink. There's no nutrition in fries and a drink.

As eddiec said get a jump rope it’ll save your life. Get a fridge or cooler and shop at grocery stores as much as possible. Also if you got an inverter get a cooktop or mini oven, slow cooker.. (microwaved food is nasty). If not most soups can be heated in the window with the defrost on over a nice drive. And if you’re a real trucker you can heat it on the engine block

I never realized just how terrible McDonald's was until I stopped eating it for over a decade. Then, one day I decided to get a Big Mac. Holy crap! It made me feel physically ill.. I mean, it tastes great but immediately after eating it i just felt super sick.

    For lunch today

Grilled steak quesadilla with peppers and onions.
    Fresh Strawberries

All prepared at the house and assembled in truck.
    Have a refrigerator and microwave.

I prepare a lot of food at home. There are lots of things you can make and portion out, then freeze for reheating later.

I’m probably one of the most health-conscious knowledgeable truck drivers on the road and let me tell you something right up front. Eating healthy while truck driving and while putting in 3000 miles per week is not easy. And yes I cook my own food, I shop at the grocery store, I used to be a cook so I’m pretty capable of whipping up anything right on the truck. The problem is what driving does to your body after you’ve been doing it day after day, month after month. You get this certain kind of tired and your blood sugar levels become off. And when you’re in the state you crave the most high carbohydrate, greasy nasty food on the planet. And then you get stuck in a rut. Or what happens to me as I’ll run out of the food that I’m cooking because I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to get to the grocery store and so naturally all start having to eat junk food. A hotdog here, donuts there, a bag of fast food and next thing you know the pounds start piling on.

I used to do hard physical labor for 8 to 10 hours a day and still go to the gym. Driving makes you a certain kind of different tired and all you wanna do is eat and go to sleep after you’ve been driving 600 miles.

it’s a real battle out here. My biggest suggestion is to try to get some exercise in early in the day not at the end of the day. Instead of slaying in the bunk for your 30 minute break get out and walk a couple miles. Run up and down some stairs, whatever it takes. Keep healthy food on your truck at all times. If you don’t you’ll start eating crap.

Best thing you can do is buy a hotplate, and get yourself a pan, a refrigerator, and plenty of chicken, fish, and vegetables. Also plenty of Fruit. You won't go hungry, and you won't get fat, as long as you exercise a bit. Those truckers wobbling around like the Pillsbury Doughboy? They barely leave their trucks, except to get food... from TAs and Petros.

Get a wok, stir fry those veggies. Lay off the butter, sugar, coke, and fried stuff. Basically everything from travel plazas.
