I need some great advice, from some great people, regarding proper gear ratio for a Super Bee in the mountains, currently I have a 500 ISX Eaton 18 with 3.90 gears and 24.5 tires. Needless to say the old girl is getting tired and I and I'm looking at a truck. I'm looking at a DD16 600 horse DT12 transmission (I'm sick of shifting 30+years)with 3.58 gears in 22-5 tire. Now I know there's a lot of smart people out there, is there anybody with any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.

What are you grossing? 3.58 might be great for cruising through The flat lands at 80, but if your in the mountains I would probably be wanting a 3.90-4.10
Brettj3876 and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
How do you figure, bud?singlescrewshaker Thanks this.

I’d have to do the math....
but 3.58 with 22.5 has to be very close to 3.90 with 24.5...gear wise.
I always prefer the 24.5/3.90 or 4.10 but that’s me.....Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
