POR15 is the paint you want. VERY expensive but it will NEVER come off if done right. Even smashing it with a ball peen hammer won't damage the surface. Oh and POR 15 actually works better over rust than clean metal.

There are lots of 362's out there you can find great deals on truckpaper running in DOT standards that you can P/U AND DRIVE HOME . Yes I'm in the process AGAIN of replacing frame rails it was done first due to an accident in Minn during winter truck came up off ramp wrong way and hit right front axle spinning into median this time due to a trucking company that shall remain Nameless. so i'm goin big 290" and addin 70 " to sleeper should be done B4 winter of next year hopefully rates and freight go up a little more and it will. I would take my time like I did find the ONE then spend a little cash go see it find a couple on a loop and drive by them. your patience will be rewarded . my uncle did his 362 with the back half of a 379 low low air leaf turned out pretty sweet . 362's are so versatile so many configurations dual steers heavy hauls short toters they were designed to be the all in one truck any way you want it or have it your way

Did your uncle use the entire 379 cutoff including rails and drill it to mate with the 362 front frame like I mentioned?

not sure it was in an accident i know they pulled the sleeper and cab off to do it so i would say yes i was only a teenager i grew up with 351 359 362 the good ol skool trucks

Thanks again to all.
Anyone else have any thoughts on using the rails/rears from a Pete conventional as the back half of a 362?
How many folks have seen or are familiar with the 2 piece frame on the 362?
