Hello everyone,
I am considering buying a 2016 International ISX 400. Is it a good option? I noticed that this truck is cheaper.

A few thoughts to get things rolling.
If you are interested, I am assuming truck is speced close to your needs? A few more details on truck and how you will use truck.
Does truck look like it's been in a demolition derby? Was it a mega fleet truck? Truck high mileage, maintenance records, been beaten into the ground? Do you have an IH dealer in your area?
KW owner here. Like truck brand but my main reason for buying it was for the way it was speced, for what I put it through. KW, Pete command the price due to popularity. The megas don't care about driver brand preference. They only care about the biggest return on the smallest $ investment.
500-600 horsepower is nice, but 400 will do the job. Will take a few more minutes to get the job done. 30 years ago 400 HP was big power. Will you exceed 80k gvw?
A few quick thoughts without going into a lot of detail, for you. The guru's will be along and give you more and better info...Last edited: Jul 27, 2020
rachi Thanks this. -
I am out here in Cheyenne trying to make my decision of rebuilding my motor or buying a used truck. The shop said my motor looked very good including crank. It has 1.2million on it but has cracked cylinder liner. Truck is completely paid for. Or do I take the money and buy a used truck. Leaning on doing the rebuild and having it done right. It is DD15.

If it had that pos junkforce engine Id agree. They're still a lower quality truck, but the ones I ran didn't have any issues outside of the engine/emissions system that any other truck wouldn't have.Benny737 Thanks this.

Do the rebuild that Dd15 is a better engine in my opinion. Cracked liners will be replaced during the rebuild. Don't spend a dollar to save a dime.
Benny737, Trucking in Tennessee and rachi Thank this.
