The opportunity to move to days just opened up. I don’t really have a preference for either. However the there’s less drivers on nights and I have a consistent truck. If I switch to days I’ll be truck hopping unless I can convince them to let me run my own. Nights does more stations, Days does a mix of commercial and stations meaning more pump offs. any input would be appreciated
Days or stay nights?

Days has more backstabbing, more drama, more buddy system perks, more of everything.

More people to deal with. Days comes with a lot of BS. Nights no BS. When the days off comes around that’s when nights wreck your days off. Your in a dilemma. You stay up your a zombie all day not enjoying your day off, you take a nap so you don’t sleep one of your days off away your a zombie, and you sleep your regular schedule and you felt like you missed one of your days off. I never felt right til my 2nd day off so it felt like 1 day off instead of 2. Days you get your 2 days off to recharge from the BS.

Yeah you nailed it. That’s why I just switched back to days. It was killing me on weekends. Zombie for a day and then only felt like I had one day off. To me it was worth the added crap to go back to days to at least feel human again lolRadman, Lumper Humper and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

Horrible traffic to deal with the whole day.
-
I don’t mind the traffic as I get paid by the hour and have a endless supply of jams. I’m a heavy sleeper and can sleep through a hurricane, so schedule has never really bothered me it might take me a week to flip my sleep schedule. I was thinking as far as advancement would days be better. Our manager knows I’m a good worker but I only really get to catch him when he’s on his way out the door while I’m pretripping or in passing to the locker room.. and part of the reason for wanting to run my own truck is to avoid the bs drama, I mean we got some really good guys but I like to show up and get to workChinatown Thanks this.

I'm a lifelong night owl. You can guess my answer. Do the shift that YOU are best suited for.

i liked nights for less traffic, cooler temps in the hot summer.
no drama, no boss to deal with (most times),Radman, G13Tomcat, Redtwin and 1 other person Thank this. -
The night crew is always more laid back. I hated days in the oilfield for the back stabbing. The last gig hauling sand almost all the owner ops worked nights

Are you hourly or mileage pay? Traffic will either be your friend or a nightmare.
