3637. The brake shoes were hanging outside the left rear drum. Spring kit inside drum was one gone one broke. One shoe cracked. Plus slacks were bone dry on grease. So they replaced hardware kit and shoes. Had to torch and beat the slack off the s cam cuz it was seized. Same thing for s cam bushing sleeve. That's what happens when trailers don't get greased on a regular schedule.

Not everyone does a proper inspection when they pick trailers up. I've seen guys hook up then walk around to get the bills out of the nose box an never once thump a tire or even look at anything at all on the trailer. I've seen people just walk around kick the tires an check the lights without ever looking underneath. I have actually never seen another one of our drivers hook up an visually inspect anything under our trailers as in checking brakes , suspension , air lines or any of the components underneath. And I've been here 3.5 years.

I cant understand that. That's why all those trailers keep getting dropped needing work. Ibe taken back at least 6 tires to the yard. The dry van I had yesterday needed 2 tires and a light, but I would have been a crappy driver to drop that at Silgan.

Yes, I had to idle in that ridiculous night heat. Back in the day it used to cool off a bit at night -- even in middle Georgia where I grew up. Not anymore. The truck # is 1057. I think it’s one of the older ones. I know it doesn't have a fridge, so guess what I'm buying with my first paycheck?

Just wondering...why do we have to bring blown up tires back to the terminal? I don't even see a place to secure one.
