Will louvers help cool a c15 acert? Do they alow enough hot underhood air to escape to have a noticeable difference? Pro's/con's to louvers?

No, they honestly don't do anything but looks. My buddy has actual vents on his and he said he thinks it lets a little air out, but nothing extreme. If your having heat issues. You need to look elsewhere.

Most late model trucks have some serious under hood temps that attack hoses and wiring over time. Best solution I have found is the same as I use on the older trucks and that is to wrap the exhaust with 2" wide header heat wrap from the turbo outlet all the way down and out of engine bay. I think a turbo blanket would help too. Sure makes it more friendly if you happen to bump into it messing with water valves or whatever.

If you choose to wrap pipes (I don't suggest it, personal preference). Paint the pipes first with high temp, then paint the wrap. That wrap absorbs water and rots pipes faster.

    w9l Thanks this.

Mine is all either fresh aluminized or stainless. It might absorb water when you wash it or spray water up on it but I am pretty sure it doesn't stay wet long when running. Point taken. I believe I will stick with it as elbow and downpipe are easier for me to sacrifice than silicone heater hoses and wiring. I have had mine apart since wrapping it with no issues at all. I use stainless hose clamps an stainless zip ties to secure it. To each his own.
