Kinda depends on who is asking ... if your a truck driver you may be best with a dispatch service , if your more of a business person you may be better off with a host of load boards. What exactly are you trying to do ?

Cash on one truck and find a driver for it why i go to college. That’s my plan after this coronavirus settles down and freight volume picks up

Depends on your experience in booking loads , what factoring you are using, are you driving on your own MC or leased . In any case if you have 2-3 years of dispatching you could easily drive and dispatch yourself. Thats game winning combo but.... Dispatching only looks and sounds easy. Book with fake broker (and there are tons of them out there ) and you will end up driving load out of VA to TX for 3 per mile but you will never be payed for it. Not to mention fuel advance scams , wrong product , hidden hazmat , rate negotiations (yeah i know all driver thing they could negotiate better but thats what dispatchers are actually trained for ) , apt schedule etc etc So unless you worked and got trained as dispatcher for few years i strongly advise you to leave board work to your dispatcher ...same goes for route planing over the week....

I cant do any recommending here as Im not truck driver plus I did some recruiting work before so I dont think admins here would like me to recommend anything. Only thing i can say is you try dispatcher for minimum 20 days to be sure about result.Good dispatcher can make mistakes first week , second week he already need to have pre-plan with projected weekly gross and average .... And if you call dispatch service and they tell you we will make you 8-9 k gross you can forget about them right away as thats just bait. No dispatcher can guarantee you that much gross on any market....Im making over 8000 (its taking toll on drivers we are stretching those miles a lot and hours are maximized) now to my trucks but that doesnt mean i can make it all the time...We will probably go down to 4-5 k in month or two depends on the market.
