Ah I appreciate it but that plan is shot to hell, I got a pre plan for tomorrow and that load is going to Tucson, AZ, picking up from northeast of Houston and I’d have to backtrack

I’m currently at my house for the night, funny how it took me two months to get here the first time and I’m back again in less than a week; I had to go about an hour out the way to get here but there was no way I was making it to my fuel solution at the Pilot in Iowa, LA and I’m sure anyone who’s been to Louisiana knows there’s not a bunch of truck stops lol

 

They're all over, but I have yet to find one near a parking spot.

 

New gear ratios will put me at the following.

13th gear 70 mph at 1300 rpm (empty - lite)
12th gear 70 mph at 1500 rpm ( loaded flat land )
11th gear 65 mph at 1650 rpm (any where any time)

This is exactly what I think I’m looking for. Originally was thinking like a 2.94 or something to run 11th (13spd) at 65 mpg at 1500 rpm like I do now in 10th (10spd)

I find I usually drive 70 ( when legal) or close to it now that the ELD is in effect. I used to run about 65 before.

@PoleCrusher didn’t you say you were shifting all the time and you weren’t happy about it? What gears do you have?

We have a truck with With 3.35 and a 13 spd. Always feels like you should be in 13th gear but always having to downshift into 12th. Im looking to drive in 12th and use 13th for my “get home empty” gear.

 

We get sea breeze storms. So nites are cool. But come one bruh. I'll grill us some steaks and supply cold beer. Who's gonna visit me in FL? You can APU if needed. But I'd love some trucker company to get some inside scoop time.
