I’ve never understood the long shifters but then again I’ve never driven with one either lol. If the driver likes it and is happy with it that’s all that matters. It’s not hurting anything.

I like a 10 inch extension on my shifter, I find it more comfortable... But I'm also 6 foot tall and have crazy long arms

Seems like it would aggravate my rotator disc, more. I thought about shortening mine. I see a lot of young guys with them. I think some are just proud to be able to shift. Probably started out with an automatic, Lol. Look Ma!!!! Just my cynical thinking. I get it, looks cool, reminds Me of the old crazy Hot rod cartoons, But you have to have the seat on the floor, with the long shifter, to be really cool.

I've seen some chopped down and I could swear they were all of a foot off the floor, actually were in some Tralo trucks, out of Minnesota I believe.

####... I think I would be missing gears all over the place with a chopped shifter... Lol

I’ve always cut mine off. Here’s the one that was in my old W9.

Remember the cabovers, kind of like a cramped sports car, a friend had a 18 spd Auto, in a Classic like mine. T handle shifter on a pedestal. Unique looking factory set up. It was in the way, though.

Pure silliness. I too, used to cut the shifter down, it made a more positive shift with a shorter throw. Tall shift levers are like a giant crow bar, and I'd think do more damage to the gears.

    Tb0n3 and speedyk Thank this.
