lol you just prooved my point. They written to tell you you can't do. So if there's no law saying bare foot driving isn't legal. Then it's legal.

Another plus when you’re driving in socks...when the cruise is set you can stretch your right leg out to the center without having to worry about keeping dirty shoes on your floor mat.

I'm not telling anyone what to wear or not wear. Do what works for you.

Myself I've tried driving my car barefoot. No way. I don't have the precision like I do with shoes on.

In the tractor it has to be boots. Not loafers not sneakers- boots.

Even if I could drive barefoot I would feel as though I'm not ready for work.

Couple years back, local automotive talk radio show, they had these two lawyers on, one specializes in traffic tickets, the other an ambulance chaser. They started talking about weird things seen on the road, and weird traffic laws. Going to commercial, one lawyer posed this question, in Colorado, is it legal to drive naked? When they came back from break, he read the law, it is legal to drive naked, as long as you can't be seen by other motorists. However, he then read a specific, archaic statute, that it is ILLEGAL to drive without shoes. In 35 yrs of being a lawyer, he had only seen someone cited for it once, and it involved a traffic accident where the guys foot was wet and slipped off the brake pedal. He then went on to read that it's illegal to drive without shoes in 30 states, but the law is often so archaic and unknown, that it's never enforced.

Only shoes I wear are slip-on Merrell Jungle Mocs, waterproof, comfortable, I can slip them off while driving (which I often do as my feet start to get uncomfortable and sweaty). I carry a pair of waterproof steel toe boots under the passenger seat for times when I need them.

  9. I find that I have a much more sensitive control of the pedals that way. I ALWAYS TRUCK BAREFOOT. I actually get a blister on my big toe where it's on the accelerator all the time.

I've heard since I was a child that it's against the law to truck barefoot but nobody has every put the statute in front of me.

I heard a story about an accident that happened in Russia or somewhere in Eastern Europe where a team fell of the cliff where one of the drivers died. The deceased driver had nothing on his feet when he was found dead, so the investigators concluded that the he could not be the one driving - despite the tachograph showing that he was logged in as the operating driver and and the surviving driver saying that his dead friend was indeed barefoot driving all the time - and arrested the "innocent" driver for the accident and causing the death.

Any time I’ve been inspected I’ve never once had anyone say anything about me being in my socks. Usually they compliment the cleanliness of my truck.
