Okay, so the rough price seems to be 40-45k to spec out any trailer here. Lead time 2-3 months. all of them are between 8500-9800 lbs

If I want to grab a trailer that's physically on the lot, it might get me in the 34-36k range and then just add any missing features with the saved money
(obviously I'm not going to be able to add j track, but say a rear dump valve or boxes)

Thanks for all of your input, now I get to make a decision over the weekend

Some info if anyone's in the same boat
    Price ascending seems to be

    Fontaine
    Extreme
    Mac
    East
    Reitenour

For a second there I thought you might be SuperTruckerDan from youtube. You want all the same specs. But, you don't have a trailer yet.

Dan went with a Dorsey, for $36k with all the specs.

Check this out. Really nice looking trailer with extra crossbeams where you'd load a coil.

By the way, haven't seen Dorsey mentioned in this thread. I'd never heard of Dorsey before. Does anyone have strong opinions about them?

I have been told, Extreme means Extreme flex up and down and side to side. Know a few guys not impressed
    They tried spreads and triadems.

I have gotten quotes from them. Then I seen this video. Even in the video the welds look like chicken sheet.

It's a long list. Mac was started from unhappy East employees. East was started from ex City Employees.

For the price I'm not a fan of East or Macs welds. They treat there employees like crap. But I'm thinking it's the only two I would buy a new aluminum trailer from.

We had Dorsey combo flats from the 90s they were ok. But looking at that Aluminum Dorsey I would stay away. The flanges are welded on. You will have a much stronger flatbed with extruded flanges that will also hold up better over time. This will help against cracking from metal fatigue as the trailer ages.

    jamespmack Thanks this.

Had a floor like an old Ravens. Fontaine copied them after Raven's got sold out. Although they made the flanges really wide on the multi axle models.

Looking at his video, I'm curious if his new empty weight is 31500 (think that's what he said)

Is his tractor stupidly heavy or the trailer, especially if he's coming from a 2k heavier fontaine (combo? 53?)

I'm under a 2007 combo fontaine now and I scale out at 32k....
    My tractor is a stretched 94 with a 3406e and 13 speed

Empty tractor on one full 150 gal tank is 21,500 with all my gear on tractor

    Sooooo
Something is weird in his math or that trailer is stupidly heavy
