    Does anyone know if the old Jarrell's or Doswell Truck Stop is still open? I haven't been up that way in quite awhile and so many of the old world stops are disappearing. I'll never get to most of those that I was very fortunate to have visited over my 45 years of driving but just to remember them and talk to other drivers about them is priceless.

    Doswell truckstop off 95 in Virginia is still open... Right across from the Kings Dominion theme park... If that is the "Doswell" you are referring to?

    At one time that was the place to stop. The restaurant only lasted a couple months after they reopened,then they opened the grill, but last time I was there they only cooked breakfast and lunch.

    Yes, that's the one. I used to stop there when it was Jarrell's way back when and the cafeteria style restaurant and then when it was just the Doswell Truck Stop it still had a great restaurant until towards the end when it closed.

    It sure was a nice truck stop years ago but it surely went downhill. Even when it re-opened it was decent but then the owners didn't seem to care. With the size of the truckstop restaurant, the parking it would make a great location for drivers.

    The Mayflower has been a Pilot for quite a few years but Secondi Bros. is still open but it needs to be torn down. The TA in W. Haven is still there but no Country Pride.

    That restaurant was definitely awesome. Tons of food that was good and still decently priced. If memory serves, they had some neat chrome for sale in their store too... stuff you didn't see anywhere else unless it was a major chrome shop.

    We always made it a goal to stop there going to Cofield, NC from around Pittsburgh. Usually it was 10pm or later till we got there, but there was always somewhere to park.

    the Big Boys in Kenly NC ,(I-95 exit 105), is still open and they just redid the whole inside.

    still have a sit down restaurant.
