I have a delivery tomorrow in Portland, Maine at 16:00. Apparently around the same time a tropical storm is supposed to move in. Wind gusts of 39-57MPH are possible although I'm seeing different numbers from different websites.
I only have 6000 pounds in the box so I'm a bit worried.
Anything that I should worry/watch out for? I've never driven or been in a tropical storm before. I'm Canadian so we don't get tropical storms.
Delivery into a tropical storm?

I would be concerned about flooding and if the area you are delivering to even has power. Power gets knocked out you may be sitting on the load until it's restored which potentially could be a couple days or longer....

Alot of rain and wind. Its like wyoming or canada inthe winter except warmer and rain instead of snow. I was over in NC months ago when a tropical storm hit and it wasnt that bad. Just lots of rain. Keep ur eye out for flooded roads and low areas going under a bridge or something similar will be flooded

Stay tuned to the weather. Mr. Obvious said that!! I often dodge the hurricanes on the gulf coast, Got to plan it right, get in, get out. Don’t take a chance on getting stuck in it. Wait a day, if needed. If they can’t understand, too bad. Your Company should be giving you support, since they have a vested interest, if not for you, for they’re equipment. Good Luck!! Might need it, 50 mph, will blow over an empty box.
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Storm is scheduled to enter New England early Wednesday morning. Which means the outer bands will hit Tuesday evening. Get in, Get out.

I've been in the middle of this storm today and yesterday between Florida and now NC.
Seems to be somewhat overrated. I didn't see a single accident today on 95 all the way up to NC. That is something that almost never happens even in perfect weather.Canadianhauler21, D.Tibbitt and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
100 miles out from your destination, top your fuel tanks off.
Luck in battle, hand. -
Canadianhauler21 and truckdriver31 Thank this.
