Hi all. I have an east dump trailer hooked up to my 379 pete. Trailer goes ip fine, well maybe a little slow, but takes forever to come down. My Ball valve is open all the way and I squirted half a can of Pblaster on the pump mechanism and worked it in and out. Is there an adjustment anywhere on the pump or anything else I can try

When was the last time the hyd filter was changed?? If I recall right they filter the oil going into the tank not coming out and into the pump.

Check the filter on the tank, the bleeder valve on the cylinder and make sure the hydraulic lines are tight.

Thanks guys. I have a 3/4” ID hose as a vent. Did notice a small puddle below it the other day. I’ll check that out. I don’t have a filter on my hydraulic system, it’s basically a free flow back to the tank

My piston is the original from 2005. 50 ton hoist and the collars are weeping a bit. Maybe sucking air?

Sounds like the packing is weeping. Some times the auto bleeder valve on the top of the cylinder gets stopped up and needs cleaning. I'd check the filters and lines. You'd be surprised what a loose line will cause. When its loose the valve can't open or close correctly and that causes the entire system to slow down (like a finger in a drain). I'd also undo the butterfly valve and reseat it.

You know come to think of it, I just had the unit apart and I could swear I tightened the butterfly with a hammer. I will go over everything again. Thanks to all of you.

Some times that stupid butterfly doesn't seat correctly and you have to undo it and reseat it. Let us know what it was if you don't mind please.
