OK everyone we lost 3 ppl today to the road test and other testing. everyone else passed. I went first and had alot of fun with my tester if it would have been someone I didn't know I would have had a bad time doing it.
now on to the comment about crs being a scam.
almost everything you need to know can be found in the central truck stop page, i don't just mean thing to make crs look good, but thing that will scare you away. but look i am still here and if i though that i was going to be cheated out of money I would have went someone else.
Now your recuriter is a jacka** for not telling you anything. My recuriter told me everything i needed to know and bring up to even telling me that i would be testing in 2 days after i get there, centrals school is not for everyone but for the ones in my class that passed it was an experience.
on to forcing you to lease. They can not by law force you to lease and most company drivers only have to sit a couple of days (on Centrals dollar) waiting till a truck gets here.
and they give you a chance to leave before you give them the 100 dollars read all the paper work as soon as you walk in the class room.
well im off to my last day of school. see ya'll on the flip side. -
Congratulations JJOY!!! -

Well. It says TexasJon has been a member here for almost a year.
Still says student though, so no clue how far he made it in the training.
The 100 bucks they charge is a scam. That is a new thing and I think it is total BS. Now they want you to pay for your own background check lol. That is absurd.
They do drop allot of people that first day or so. All that is here in these posts. Every one of them did one of a few things. 1. They lied on paperwork, 2. Failed Physical, 3. Forgot paperwork they were supposed to bring with them. 4. Failed drug screen.
Most that they found lies thru there background checks are out Tuesday, and drug screens come back Tues or Wed.
If you fail for any of those things and are sent home I am sorry, but thats trucking.
Way too many people lie on there backgound it is the #1 reason people are sent home.
For training. You are sent out with a trainer. All Training companys do this. The classes they have you do are to get you your licence. Not to teach you to drive. Because trust me, after a few weeks of training you cannot drive.
If you have a decent trainer you should not have any issue learning the ropes so you can safely drive a truck solo. You will still run into allot of issues when you go out solo, but you will be as prepaired as the first few weeks at any new job learning the ropes.
As for getting home after the 28 days. You get home when you get a truck and a load that gets you there. They will do all they can to route your truck to home. No they will not pay to get you home. You are supposed to be a driver at this point. Going home without a truck and a load is not what most drivers want to do.
I dont know where in the training you were booted Texas. I am guessing a trainer booted you but dont know. That can happen too. If you just plain cannot do the job. That is not saying anything bad about you. This job is not for everyone, and most people cannot do it. Sometimes it is a physical thing and sometimes mental. It is not for everyone.
As far as training companys go.
Companys that will train you to get your licence. Then you pay it back. Central is not bad. Oh..on the pay deduction. Yes, they pull the full ammt a week, then there is a credit on your pay for the part they pay. So you are not paying the full 50 or whatever.
They will also deduct for load locks. Pad lock/ kingpin lock. And they put like 500 in an acct that is for if you abandon your truck, or leave it all nasty when you leave the company. I did in fact get that full ammt back when I left the company.
I can still say that it stung to pay for load locks though. They know #### well there is no way you will take them with you when you leave the company. And every driver they put in a truck pays for a set. I have seen trucks with 20++ load locks on there catwalks.
If I got more than my rack would hold I would put 1 or 2 there, but not for a long peorid of time. It is not a safe place to put them. So they would get left in a trailer or at a yard.
I still have my padlock and kingpin lock. -
Down south here 8 of 9 have passed our road test, one has to retake on Monday. It's nice to be done and just waiting for orientation.

Whats does CRS do if you have CDL, but haven't driven in a few years. Put you in the driving school again or put you with trainer?
