Myself, I wouldn't use anything other than OEM. I haven't cut a Luberfiner filter apart but I've cut a few other aftermarket ones apart and they were inferior to an OEM Caterpillar filter.

Cat, Fleetguard, or Baldwin.
Baldwin makes a better replacement for the old 750’s than Luberfiner makes and they invented those.spsauerland Thanks this. -
Donaldson makes very good filters too.
AModelCat Thanks this. -
I was told years ago that Cummins still has Donaldson make a lot of there older filters and package them Fleetguard. Which makes sense because Donaldson was a field engineer for Cummins and a good friend of Clessie. He developed the dry element air filter to get away from oil bath and the first mufflers for diesels while employed with Cummins.QUALITYTRUCK and AModelCat Thank this.

Cat filters (Perkins too) are made by AFSI, which was a joint venture between Cat and Donaldson back in 1986.
SmallPackage Thanks this.
