Question about Texas rattlesnakes!!!

    Found a dead one under truck during pti this morning, in Landstar yard Fort Worth,TX just south of DFW airport.I might have backed over it.Only second snake I've seen in six years trucking. 20200807_075237.jpg 20200807_075310.jpg 20200807_075524.jpg

    I had one coiled up on the zipper one time in Texas. Being the nice guy that I am, I attempted to drive around him. I was looking in the mirrors and as my trailer tires went past him he struck out, bounced off my tandem and then got ran over by a car in the lane next to me.

    Those guys get a bad rap cause they look like diamond back’s at first glance. Big but harmless. Looks like he had plenty of mice to eat at Landstar. No one starves at Landstar. Lol!

    That's a Bullsnake. It looks like a rattlesnake but notice it's missing the blunt rattle on the ennd and has a tapering tail. They will hiss if provoked and are non venomous, not that you would want to get bit by one anyway.
