You are so right about wondering if every person on the side of the road is gonna do it, too. I wasn't with him when it happened but it is on my mind every. Single. Day We live in Eugene where there are over 4000 homeless people camped along the side of the road. About 3 or 4 times a day someone looks like they might "jump" and we go through it all again. One guy yesterday was leaning into my lane on the beltway, just staring into space. I couldn't get over in time so we just braced for it. Fortunately, he pulled back in time but wth?
A small update: Bobby is in counseling. Still wont drive a car I've started my job early on the 27th and will get a small check for July of about 200. Before taxes. Our phones are off but we still have power for now. Lost internet on the third but using wifi where we can find it. We will hopefully be okay next month.
Thank you all for your concern and donations. We are sincerely grateful.

@Shyannesierra
Good luck and keep us posted. I understand exactly what Bobby and you are going thru as it happened to me as well.Bud A., Shyannesierra, mjd4277 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not being sarcastic but, have you tried calling on Jesus. I always found in bad situations like yours if I call on Jesus my problems are fixed.NightWind, Bud A., Muddydog79 and 1 other person Thank this.

I kinda thought so. You seemed to understand exactly what we are feeling. The part about no exit. We have even said that verbatim. I hope you find peace as well.NightWind Thanks this.

I hope that you and Bobby both find peace. I've been told I have PTSD from this but I feel that is just a simple way to explain the flashbacks and feelings that pertain to this most horrible of visions we see over and over. I haven't had an issue driving even the same day that it happened. I DO have an issue with that particular stretch of road which thankfully I can avoid easily.
Each day that goes by it's easier to deal with. Everyone reacts and recovers from it in their own way.
No it's not easy, will I ever forget it, probably not. I have accepted the fact that I did nothing wrong, and could not have prevented it. We cannot hold ourselves responsible for the poor choices others make that can cause us to doubt our very existence and purpose. We cannot listen to the hateful voices that we WILL hear in one shape form or fashion. We can only pray that they never have the experience that we have and eventually learn that no human on this earth is without fault.
I always leave things to God because he has never brought me into something that he didn't know I was capable of dealing with simply because I have handed over control to him. Pretty simple sounding, right, but most people cannot relinquish control to something they say they cannot see, hear, touch or communicate with verbally. Me personally I see, hear, touch, and communicate with God everyday and I am blessed.rolls canardly, D.Tibbitt, not4hire and 5 others Thank this. -
You don't "get over" something like that. What happens is that you get used to the way it feels and the way you feel about it and then you develop some coping tools.
I had a guy step out from behind a parked car on I-5 some years ago. He went under the right front steer tire and got jammed up under the fender, spit out of that and hit with everything on the right side of the truck.
They found a suicide note in his car. I don't take any personal responsibility for his actions. It was his decision to make and he was serious in his intent.
But still, driving that same piece of road makes me think about it. I wish it hadn't happened.Sirscrapntruckalot, D.Tibbitt, not4hire and 4 others Thank this. -
God Bless you. Thank you for sharing. The man that ran out in front of me looked me dead in the eye he knew what he was doing. I don't know if there was a note or not.
Coping tools those are that the things that you find work best for you. -
How about sending me the link too please.

One day I picked up a load at a Tyson plant in Arkansas. One lane 45 mph and my clock was tight so I was doing 55 and a guy comes running down his driveway and crosses the other lane.
So I stepped on the clutch and brake to slow down, I thought he was running to the mailbox. But he stopped in the middle of my lane and waved his arms for me to hit him. I jammed on the brakes and stopped in time.
About ten or fifteen miles down the road a cop car and ambulance passed me .
I am thankful I didn't hit him.
Praying for Bobby.Bud A., Muddydog79, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -
