Tarping takes practice to figure out a routine.

    Here's mine.

Roll out back tarp, make sure the sides are even. Hook the back together, pull the front of the tarp forward so it's tight and hold it with a bungee on each side pulling forward. Roll out front tarp and repeat same process. I then start by putting bungees on every hook front to back on both sides then start folding the driver side up and I use the clamps Ive posted about before to hold the folded parts up. I then walk down the side getting the tarp tight and pulling each bungee at about a 45 deg angle and hooking it to the trailer. If I can, I use 24" bungees and hook them higher up the side. If Im using the rings closer to the trailer I use 18" bungees. My loads, I usually end up using both sizes. The back end of the front tarp, I pull a bungee back and down through the rail, then back up to another lower ring.

For me, the key to getting them tight is to work my way front to back on the front tarp and back to front on the back tarp.

I flat out had my doors blown off way north Ontario one night by a pack of snowmobiles. Could have been sled dogs idk. Two lane and 35 mph was pushing it in the dark. Those boys left me setting like I was chained to a stump.

I just decided to let that conversation go, but that was a pretty good way of putting it

I have a 2” ratchet over the tail, but partly afraid it could pull out, so I just hook the end up so it doesn’t have a chance to flap. I’m no pro by any means. I have 15, 21, & 31” bungees, but mostly 21 is all I use. Only carry 4’ tarps now.

Idk know but January in Ontario was no place to be messing around. I was in a wrecker towing a tractor only from the rear. Then came home empty. It was no joke.
