Most of the dump trailers I have pulled, at least had a step or rung welded in the outside of body. they were usually placed to far apart for a fat person, but the trailer had those anyway

Thanks @NightWind, that’s what I’m going to run with this trailer. Like I said, in a perfect world my days of hauling certain scrap material will be behind me, I’m tired of the toll it takes on the equipment, but at the end of the day it’s not my equipment.

@Trashtrucker1707 Bows are a pain in the butt, I do NOT ever take mine out. In the past I did but now, forget it. Too much work even if you can get them out. I've been looking at a new tarp system that the bows move with the tarp, but I haven't decided what I'm going to do.
Well I'll be in Birmingham Tuesday to check on the truck and pay the polish guy.

Yep 8 bows is correct! I’m with ya it’s not even my equipment and I hate the wear and tear hauling scrap does. Especially anything for the railroad. Brakes and rotors, springs, tie plates, rail crop. It’s all a jagged sharp heavy rusty mess and almost everytime you inspect after unloading it clanged something lose or flat out broke it off. And there you are digging thru the pile trying to get your inner wall steps back.

I agree. This weekend flew by. Whoever came up with 5 day work weeks and 2 days off had that backwards. I will say tho, end dumping I don’t dread work like I used to. Hell a few days last week it was a good time. Easy, good weather, nice drives and just chatting back and forth on the cb with guys I was running with. Not like when I did freight dude. It was almost like a 1 day weekend cuz Sunday was spent dreading the next day, and knowing it was gonna be jacked up. I know freight is kinda the barometer in trucking as far as good pay, but it just is not for me. Too many rules, and too many dumb ideas that someone came up with at corporate to try to justify their position so they had something to say they did at the next meeting. 7 years of that, and if I never do it again it’ll be too soon.

You know @motocross25 last week was good for me also. Just did my runs no problems. Was late getting home Friday evening but o well. Just kicked back laying in sleeper waiting to be loaded. Gotta turn and burn the boss wants me back here tomorrow. Not really how I had planned it but it’s better than some of the other options I was given.

Well might not have been a good day money wise, but as far as working it was easy. Went to load my shred this morning and it took FOREVER. That place could screw up a free lunch, and today they were right on par. Got to Sedalia and dumped and told em “I gotta run to Mexico, MO to get HMS, see you in a bit”. They told me to cool my jets, they changed their receiving hours to ending at 3. Well I wasn’t gonna make that. Called in to dispatch he just said “come on back, pre load a shred for tomorrow so you can get an earlier start and we’ll try it again”. So, got my preload on, I’ll get rubber rolling about 6 to get to Sedalia about 7:30 and sneak in behind the rush, and try it again.

Not a very productive day in the “dirty south”, today was supposed to be a vacation day for me but that didn’t play out. Ended up running an errand up to the yard then spending most of the afternoon trying to straighten out my tarp woes, needless to say I didn’t end up too successful on that front. We’ll see if tomorrow treats me any better, here’s hoping.
