Biscuit75, if you find a good one in the near future (8/6) pm me with the info. I'm in the same boat as you but would rather be on the exit ramp with a sign and my 2 dogs than to send them back to the ex. Thanks

MRQ- Where is Ritchie?? I'm in St.Louis and looking at tanker outfits- prefer local but no more than out and back unless I can bring my dog. I've got an interview in the morning with Groendyke and am hopeful (but thats the only reason I get out of bed- unemployed Sucks)

I worked for Oakley for about a year and while I was there I remember seeing a husband/wife team in the Lake Wales terminal walking their dog while they were getting their truck PM'ed. If you run OTR for them and your dog is a small breed I don't see a problem. Give Dale Self a call to find out for sure. Just don't talk to that fat turd Craig Stevens. Dale is a cool guy though. Been there for about 20 plus years now. Good luck.

Guys, if your criteria is dogs you can forget about most tanker work. Especially Hazmat. Chem plants and refineries will not permit entry with animals in the cab and they are serious about it. Saw a Swift box driver who got snotty with BASF security when they told him no. They refused him entry, called his company and barred him from every BASF property in the country.

Tanks, especially Hazmat, have far stricter rules than other modes of trucking. Take facial hair for example. No beards, etc because you have to be able to wear a full-face respirator. Alot of these chemicals can do you serious, long-term and even fatal damage if you inhale the fumes.

The rules are there for good reasons.

BTW, last year we had a young guy show up for orientation in full hip-hop gear (knee-crotch pants, chains, etc). Started the "nobody tells me what to do" routine and was gone that night.

I was a driver trainer for Highway Transport for 3 years they are a very good company to work for. They are fairly large, but after you have been there awhile when you walk in the door to one of the terminals everyone knows your name. Now as to pets forget it. Maybe some of the food grade but if it is chemicals no pets. And Chemicals are where the money is.

I can you brief info for Bynum Trans. out of Auburndale, FL. The recruiter's name is Walt-he's a nice enough guy that will try to help you as much as he can...which isn't too much. The guy over safety (I think Gary was his name) is a major A-HOLE..many of the drivers are grumpy old guys (not there's anything wrong with being old!) however, their grooming standards are terrible-I once ran spring water for them at Nestle in Lee,FL and had many drivers from other companies and employees at Nestle complain to me about how bad my co-workers looked and smelled. Pay was poor--miles fairly low, unless you'd run milk in the midwest for them. NO PETS--as is the standard with many food grade carriers, as I doubt you'd want animals around your own food products. Trucks are okay--you'll either get a newer Mack, or a Freightshaker Columbia. They had Pete's but were phasing them out last year when I left them. The good things about them are as follows: they don't micromanage you, or tell you how to log, and you can idle about as much as you want, or they will pay for your hotel room during your 34 hr restart. Hope that helps BTW- Kentucky24--How bout the Cats knocking Tebow out?--41-7, but we hurt the GAYtors Superman!!! Go CATS!!

    Resurrection, I know.

Are there any good tank companies in Arizona? I've been searching and the only ones i've found are Superior (In parker.. unknown if they hire out of that terminal per wsyrob) and Groendyke, which i've read mixed reviews about thus far. Thanks.
