    This isn’t political before I begin, merely a civics lesson.

    Alrighty, it hardly matters who wins the election to a certain extent because our country is currently divided in two; the reason why that matters is in order to make change, which is the same thing as passing laws, a law must first be proposed in Congress as a “Bill” that’s then voted on in the Senate and House of Representatives; providing it gets a majority vote in both houses it then goes to the President and he can either sign it into law, or veto it and congress can overrule the president by a majority vote of 2/3 of both houses combined; so what’s the big deal with my long explanation? Well, the downside to the way our government is currently set up is when the country is divided the way it is it’s almost impossible to get a bill through Congress and to the president, thus no change occurs; what’s been happening for years is many presidents have been using their “Executive Powers” (the president is the Executive branch, Congress is the Legislative and Supreme Court the Judicial) unconstitutionally by going over Congress’s head and passing their own laws; is there a downside to this method? Oh why yes there is, a huge one in fact; you see since it didn’t go through Congress it’s not “set in stone” so to speak and all one has to do to throw this unconstitutional law into the garbage is elect a president that doesn’t like the law and all he has to do is use his own Executive Powers to get rid of it and there’s nothing anyone can do about it because of its shaky foundation and what we’re left with is.. hmm I think there’s a song that would go good with this, “One step forward two steps back” is part of the lyrics; we’re not really making any good progress, just doing what one side wants for a couple years, then pulling the rug out from under them and pandering to the other.

    There’s a fairly easy fix to this problem: Learn to work together, change the government from a Republic to a mixture of a Republic and a Direct Democracy by giving the common people the right to propose and vote on bills, not Congress, because the disconnect is with the people and Congress contrary to electing officials who are supposed to have your best interests

    More civics education;

    That’s why you need to vote. The elected officials work for the people. If they don’t do what they are elected for, vote them out. Shouldn’t take long to get the message across. That’s the way the system is supposed to work.

    Also, the court system uses a wide variety of sources for prospective jury pool. Driver license, property tax, utility bills are used as well.

    Ever notice we never actually vote for anyone? Instead we opt to vote out the current government.

    Don’t want to go political, not the place.

    To answer your question, if you vote for some one, then you made a choice.

    The challenge is to vote wisely. That is the hard part.

    I agree.

    We have 4 main parties up here in Canada, the US only has 2 main ones, right? Maybe that's why I'm seeing it different since we have more choices I guess.
