Late post here but how can somebody with a new CDL get into grain hopping? I purchase my own equipment and lease on without sinking. Is this possible or am I dreaming?

Well I’m digging up an old thread here, but I’ve been hauling wood chips with my own truck for 3 years and I am getting fed up with it. The lines at the mill are ridiculously long, I’ve been running all night and then most of the day, go home for a few hour nap and go do it again for $2,500 a week gross.

I know covid got everything messed up, but I’m thinking about trying hopper bottom. I live in south Arkansas and figure surely with harvest around the corner I can get work with a broker. Anyone know how that’s going now?? I don’t want to quit where I’m at if I’m just going deeper in the hole.
