hello everyone,
First time posting on here and I’m sorry if it’s in the wrong section. If a mod could move it that be great. Anyways on to the problem. I purchased a 2011 Freightliner m2 112 daycab tractor. It has the DD13 engine in it. Had been running fine first couple of months then I started to notice my truck was not running normal. After about 30 minutes it could not rev up past 15000rpm if it did truck would die. I changed out all the fuel filters (3) primed truck and got it going. Went fine for about 350 miles. After that I got codes popping up saying I had low fuel pressure to the rails and my diesel was hotter than it should be.
The codes pulled are #157 M16 and #174 M 0.
I was thinking it was my fuel pump but the fuel pumps are backordered. Any other suggestions?
Thank you for time and help.

did you ever get a fix on this issue, im experiencing the same issue on my DD13. Was wondering what your fix was. I just replaced all my filters 3 weeks ago.

I am sorry I took so long. I’m sure you got it figured out by now. My problem was my own doing. I didn’t place the water fuel separator correctly so it was getting air. In the system. The big o ring was placed wrong. After that I actually had a problem with my fuel rail near the injectors had a leak. Those are two possibilities.

I wish it was that easy!! My fuel pump pretty much disintegrated, had metal in fuel filters, didn’t make it to injectors thank god. Had to lower the tanks, clean out metal out of tanks, $8k later, we were back on the road within 3 days thankfully. Word to self, replace your fuel pumps after 500k miles. Don’t even risk it or wait for failures. Food thing is I’m looking for my second truck now -
Ok maybe I exaggerated. Now that I re read my post. I had to put a new fuel pump in also. When the mechanic was doing that he didn’t replace the bushing in the back and I had all my coolant leak out. Then I switched all my filters again and that’s when I put the filter on wrong. But yes it was a difficult time for me as well. We also re used the fuel rails which was a big mistake. I ended up on the side of the road within a week.
